Dear Delegates, Advisors, and Prospective Attendees,
My name is Vincent Glidden and, as Secretary-General, I would personally like to welcome you to the eighth annual Ohio State Model United Nations Conference.
Model United Nations is a transformative platform for high school students to showcase their abilities to think critically, debate, and most importantly, deliberate the political benefits and consequences of both historical and current affairs. This year, we will offer a wide variety of exhilarating crisis committees, along with several, more traditional general assembly committees. Our staff is attentively and constantly working to research and design the best, and most informative settings for our delegates. With thirteen different committees to choose from, delegates will find no shortage of forums to fit their interests.
I would also like to take this opportunity to greet both our new and returning delegations. To returning schools, we appreciate your diligent and constructive feedback and hope you find your suggested changes well implemented in this year’s conference. To new schools, we cannot wait for you to experience what this meticulously prepared conference has to offer.
The conference opens on Friday, April 3rd at 7pm and continues until the awards ceremony on Sunday afternoon on April 5th. Throughout the weekend, we will offer a campus tour, advisor feedback sessions, and new, swanky OSUMUN souvenirs.
With downtown Columbus and the Short North only a short drive away, there are plenty of hotel and dining options for our delegates and advisors. To add to the fun, OSUMUN will also host its third annual Delegate Dance with a surprise theme that will be announced later in the year.
We look forward to meeting all of you in Columbus in April!
